Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia melalui Lirik Lagu Pantun Binua Landak pada Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 02 Mandor

Abstract

 This study aims to describe the implementation of Indonesian language learning by utilizing the lyrics of pantun Binua Landak among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 02 Mandor, while also identifying the obstacles encountered and the strategies employed by teachers to overcome them. The background of this research stems from the need for literature learning through response texts that are more applicable and contextual, so that students not only understand the structure of pantun but also appreciate the local cultural values embedded within. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with primary data sources consisting of teachers and seventh-grade students, and secondary data including lesson plans, textbooks, pantun lyrics, and school documents. Data collection techniques involved interviews, tests, documentation, measurement, and rubrics for assessing students’ writing skills in response texts. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman model, covering reduction, presentation, and conclusion verification. The findings show that learning was carried out in a structured manner, with teachers explaining the concept and structure of response texts and linking the content of pantun to local culture. Student activities demonstrated active participation, yet the average score reached only 51, placing their ability to write response texts in the “low” category. The main obstacles included weak mastery of text structure, limited vocabulary, and the dominance of local language use in both school and community environments.
