Implikasi Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia Terhadap Bahasa Daerah

Indonesian language proficiency is a crucial aspect of children's development as it plays a significant role in learning processes, communication, and social interactions. This study aims to analyze how the use of local languages affects the Indonesian language skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 03 Kelabu. The sample consisted of all 20 students in the class. The research employed interviews and observations to gather data on students' daily use of local languages and its impact on their Indonesian language proficiency. The findings indicate that the use of local languages influences students' communication skills in Indonesian, particularly in fluency, word comprehension, and sentence structure. Additionally, environmental factors such as family, peers, and school play a significant role in students' language development. This study applies the social learning theory and ecological systems theory to understand how social interactions and surroundings contribute to students' linguistic growth.Based on these findings, it is recommended that Indonesian be optimized as the primary language of instruction in the learning process to enhance students' language skills. Furthermore, support programs should be implemented to assist students in improving their Indonesian proficiency. Future research is also suggested to explore effective strategies for fostering language development in bilingual environments.
